Russia announces record number of coronavirus-linked deaths

Russia today reported 13,754 new coronavirus (COVID-19) cases and a record high of 286 coronavirus-linked deaths in the last 24 hours, pushing the national death toll to 23,491, according to National Post.

Meanwhile, BBC’s Russian Service says Russia today recorded 14,231 cases of COVID-19 – for the first time the daily number of coronavirus cases has exceeded 14,000.  

In Moscow, 57 coronavirus patients died over the last day, BBC’s Russian Service reported on Thursday.

3,942 new officially confirmed cases of COVID-19 were reported in Moscow on October 14.  

Russia, the country of around 145 million, has the world’s fourth largest number of cases, behind only the United States, India and Brazil.
