Khujand shuts nightclubs in a bid to curb the spread of coronavirus

Asia-Plus

By decision of the Khujand Center for State Sanitary and Epidemiological Supervision all nightclubs in the city have been closed.

In the current situation, the activity of such centers is dangerous for the health of citizens,” says the decision.

“Despite awareness-raising efforts, they [nightclubs] did not follow the recommendations of the City Committee on COVID-19 Response,” Mamour Yusufzoda, a spokesman for the Khujand mayor’s office, told Asia-Plus in an interview.

By the decision signed by the Khujand chief sanitary inspector Tahmina Usmonova on October 22 the activity of entertainment centers Khvakanta, Opera, Amnistiya, Parlament, Vecherny Sugd, Akhil, Yasuman and Barbos has been suspended until the epidemiological situation in the city stabilizes.
