Russian air carrier Ural Airlines has got permission from the Tajik authorities to operate charter flights from three Tajik cities (Dushanbe Khujand and Kulob) to the Russian Federation.

It is expected to operate eleven weekly flights from Tajikistan to Russia.

According to the Tajik Embassy in Moscow, Ural Airlines will operate six charter flights from Dushanbe to Moscow (Zhukovsky Airport – once-weekly service on Sundays), Kazan (once-weekly service on Mondays), Krasnoyarsk (once-weekly service on Mondays), Samara (once-weekly service on Tuesdays), St Petersburg (once-weekly service on Tuesdays) and Ufa (once-weekly service on Mondays).

Besides, Ural Airlines will operate four charter flights from Khujand to Moscow (Zhukovsky Airport – once-weekly service on Mondays), Krasnoyarsk (once-weekly service on Mondays), Samara (once-weekly service on Sundays) and St Petersburg (once-weekly service on Fridays).

The Russian air carrier will also operate once-weekly charter flights from Kulob to Moscow on Saturdays.

“These flights are operated to repatriate Russian citizens stranded in Tajikistan due to the coronavirus pandemic and carry persons who have grounds to enter Russia in accordance with the Russian government’s decree of March 16 (No 635-r),” a source within the Tajik Embassy in Moscow told Asia-Plus in an interview.

Recall, another Russian air carrier, Utair, got permission to operate charter flights from Tajikistan to Russia in early October.  It is operating flights from Dushanbe to Moscow and from Khujand to Surgut.  The last flight from Dushanbe to Moscow will be operated on November 28.

Ural Airlines is an airline based in Yekaterinburg, Sverdlovsk Oblast, and Russia.  It operates scheduled and chartered domestic and international flights out of Kosovo International Airport.

Utair is a Russian airline with its head office at Khanty-Mansiysk Airport while its hubs are at Surgut International Airport and Vnukovo International Airport.  It operates scheduled domestic and some international passenger services, scheduled helicopter services, and extensive charter flights with fixed-wing aircraft and helicopters in support of the oil and gas industry across western Siberia.
