About 10,000 people in Tajikistan sent on forced leave

More than 9,800 people in Tajikistan have been sent on forced leave due to downtime of some enterprises, according to the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan.  Moreover, 8,000 (more than 80 percent) of them have been sent on forced leave without pay.   200 people now work part-time.

The Agency for Statistics says the current unemployment rate (including latent unemployment) in Tajikistan is 2.4 percent.  

Labor forces (employed and officially registered unemployed) reportedly amount to 2,468,000 people in Tajikistan. 

Of them, 2,417,000 (98 percent) arr employed in the economy and 50,400 others have an official status of unemployed.  

As of October 1, 2020, an average monthly wage in Tajikistan amounted to 1,426 somonis.

In the communications sector, an average monthly wage amounted to 2,731 somonis, in the construction sector – 2,477 somonis, in the mining sector – 2,423 somonis.

The lowest average monthly was reported in the agrarian sector – 563.00 somonis.  

Meanwhile, wage debts in Tajikistan reportedly reached about 74.8 million somonis (equivalent to 6.6 million U.S. dollars) as of October 1, 2020.
