A senior operations officer of the Drug Enforcement Department at the Khatlon Police Directorate, Sherafgan Kholov, is suspected of a large-scale bribery.
According to the press center of the Agency for State Financial Control and Combating Corruption under the President of Tajikistan, Kholov is suspected of taking US$10,000 in bribe from F. Safarov for getting his son’s sentence reduced.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted against Kholov under the provisions of Article 247 (4) of Tajikistan’s Penal Code. They case has moved to a court and Kholov faces up to 12 years in prison.
