Tajikistan makes preparations for displaying its achievement at a world exhibition in Dubai

Date:

Tajikistan is actively making preparations for participation in a world exhibition Expo 2002 in Dubai, Jamshed Jumakhonzoda, the head of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Tajikistan (CCI), told reporters in Dushanbe on February 3.

“This is the most important event of this year for us,” said Jumakhonzoda.  “The exhibition will provide a platform for displaying technical, technological and economic achievements.”

It will be possible to exchange experience with business representatives of other countries and conclude trade deals at the exhibition, he added.

Expo 2020 is a World Expo to be hosted by Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, originally scheduled for October 20, 2020 — April 10, 2021. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the new dates are October 1, 2021 – March 31, 2022.  Despite being postponed, organizers will keep the name Expo 2020 for marketing and branding purposes.  It is the first time that a World Exposition has been postponed to a later date rather than cancelled.  The Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) general assembly in Paris named Dubai as the host on November 27, 2013.

The main site of Expo 2020 Dubai will be a 438-hectare area located between the cities of Dubai and Abu Dhabi, near Dubai's southern border with Abu Dhabi.

The expo will have a theme called "Connecting Minds, Creating the Future".  The expo will also have three subthemes: opportunity, mobility and sustainability, each with its own pavilion.
