Heads of border regions of Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan to meet in Fergana to discuss cooperation

Sughd Governor Rajabboy Ahmadzoda heading a delegation of regional administrators and businesspeople of Sughd province and a delegation of officials and businesspeople of Kyrgyzstan’s Batken oblast, led by its head Omurbek Suvanaliyev will arrive in Fergana, the capital of Fergana region in eastern Uzbekistan, on April 22 for participation in a trilateral business forum entitled “Integration of Border Regions – the Key to Development” that will take place on April 23, a source within the Tajik government told Asia-Plus in an interview.

The upcoming forum is expected to plenary sessions on industrial and agricultural cooperation, as well as a platform for negotiations in the B2B and G2B formats.

The program of the visit also includes a meeting of governors of the three border regions, the source said.

Meanwhile, Kyrgyzstan’s national news agency Kabar says representatives of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan will get acquainted with the activities of large industrial and agricultural enterprises of the region, visit an exhibition of products of Fergana region manufacturers.
