A 50-year-old resident of Dehmalik village in Varzob district has been detained on suspicion of committing a five-fold murder in Nourobod district (Rasht Valley) 26 years ago.
The Interior Ministry’s official website says the man machine-gunned five servicemen in Nourobod district in 1995.
“He machine-gunned four servicemen of the Internal Troops of the Interior Minister and one officer of the Nourobod police station at the checkpoint in the Chorsada area of Nourobod district on May 13, 1995. They all died,” the website says.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted against the man under the provisions of Article 104 of Tajikistan’s Penal Code – murder; an investigation is under way.
