The Drug Control Agency (DCA)’s Office in the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO) has reported a large hashish haul.
The DCA press center reports that a 24-year-old resident of Porshnev village in Shugnan district has been detained on suspicion of being involved in drug trafficking.
50 packages of narcotic drug that tested positive to hashish weighing 25.8 kilograms have been confiscated from him.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted against the suspected drug smuggler undert the provisions of two articles of Tajikistan’s Penal Code: Article 200 – drug trafficking; and Article 289 – smuggling. An investigation is under way.
