Kyrgyz media reports say on June 4 two military helicopters with Kyrgyz security officer on board were heading to the scene of tension on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border in Nookat district of Kyrgyzstan’s Osh region.

24.kg, citing its own source, noted on Friday that “at the moment, only four victims have been found, they are being provided assistance.”

According to 24.kg sources, the helicopter completely burned out.

Meanwhile, Sputnik.kg, citing a source within the Defense Ministry of Kyrgyzstan, said that the helicopter had made an emergency hard landing.

“There were 10 people on board, no injured ws reported.  According to the preliminary data, three persons sustained minor injuries, they received medical assistance,” Sputnik.kg said.

Recall, Kyrgyz authorities said on June 4 that tensions escalated along a disputed segment of the Kyrgyz-Tajik border.  Kyrgyzstan border service’s press center said Tajik military personnel placed a container on an unmarked segment of the border in the Chon-Alai district of the Osh region at around 3 a.m. on June 4, entering 1,000 meters inside Kyrgyz territory.

The Tajik border guards' press service rejected the Kyrgyz statement, saying that its unit had moved to a border area that had been agreed with the Kyrgyz side as Tajikistan's territory.
