The Minister of Economic Development and Trade Zavqi Zavqizoda yesterday met here with the Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Maxim Reshetnikov on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Economic Forum, according to the press center of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan (MoEDT).
The two reportedly discussed issues related to state and prospects of further expansion of trade and economic cooperation between Tajikistan and Russia.
The parties, in particular, expressed interest in further expansion of cooperation in the fields of digital economy, e-commerce and innovation within the framework of the SCO, as well as trade and economic relations between the countries in order to ensure the growth of foreign trade turnover, including the exchange of a list of goods of bilateral supply, the signing of a memorandum between the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan and the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, to develop and strengthen interregional cooperation within the framework of the agreements.
They also discussed measures to exchange experience between Tajik and Russian specialists in the field of digital trade development, establish cooperation in the development of high-quality forecasts, improve existing modeling mechanisms and the use of new models of socio-economic development and the launch of joint industrial enterprises in Tajikistan’s free economic zones.
