An official coronavirus death toll is continuing to rise in Tajikistan.
According to data from the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population (MoHSPP), one more coronavirus-linked death has been officially confirmed in Tajikistan as of the evening of July 12 bringing a total number of the coronavirus-related deaths that have been officially registered in the country since June 21, 2021 to fourteen.
Thus, a total number of the officially confirmed coronavirus-linked deaths in Tajikistan has reached 104 since April 30, 2020, when the infection index cases were officially confirmed in Dushanbe and Khujand.
34 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) have been officially confirmed in Tajikistan as of the evening of July 12, bringing a total number of COVID-19 cases officially reported in the country since June 21 to 507.
The total number of the officially confirmed cases of COVID-19 infection in Tajikistan has reached 13,868 since April 30, 2020, when its index cases were confirmed in the country.
A MoHSPP says eighteen COVID-19 patients recovered in the country yesterday, bringing a total number of those who have been cured in Tajikistan since April 30, 2020 to 13,553 (99 percent).
Meanwhile, according to unofficial data, the number of affected persons and deaths is in the thousands.
Tajikistan’s coronavirus task force has ordered all citizens over the age of 18 to get vaccinated against COVID-19. Citizens should book an appointment with their doctor or their local clinic to receive a free vaccination. The task force said the mandatory vaccination order was to counter the spread of COVID-19 in Tajikistan. It also called on citizens returning to Tajikistan from abroad and visitors to isolate for 10 days even if they test negative. The coronavirus task force also encouraged Tajiks to limit the size of weddings and other events to the fewest number of people.
The coronavirus COVID-19 is reportedly affecting 220 countries and territories. According to COVID-19 data provided by Worldometer, coronavirus cases around the globe have been reported at 188,080,023 since China reported its first cases to the World Health Organization (WHO) in December 2019. Of them, 172,013,797 have recovered and 4,055,871 have died.
