The Russian 201st military base stationed in Tajikistan will receive 30 modern tanks by the end of 2021, said the head of the armored service of the Central Military District Hanif Beglov, writes Interfax.
"By the end of the year, 30 modern tanks will come to replace the combat vehicles of earlier modifications of the tank battalion of the Russian military base in Tajikistan.", – said Beglov on the eve of Tanker's Day.
The replacement of tanks at the Russian military base in Tajikistan will be carried out against the background of a sharp exacerbation of the situation in neighboring Afghanistan where, after the withdrawal of the American military, representatives of the Taliban terrorist movement seized power.
