Tajikistan and Iran signed eight new agreements

Presidents supported the expansion of cooperation between the two countries

President of Tajikistan Emomali on September 18 at the capital's Palace of the Nation received Iranian President Said Ibrohim Raisi, who was in Dushanbe on an official visit.

The parties discussed building up cooperation between the two states both in a bilateral format and within the framework of international organizations, the press service of the President of Tajikistan reports..

The Presidents spoke in favor of expanding cooperation between Tajikistan and Iran in the spheres of politics, economy, trade, communication, energy, industry, culture, education, science and security. 

The Presidents expressed satisfaction with the work of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation.

To increase trade between the two states, it was proposed to prepare and adopt a long-term program for trade and economic cooperation between Tajikistan and Iran, create a joint chamber of commerce and industry and a Joint Investment Council.
