Tajikistan will take part in the Tashkent Film Festival "Pearls of the Silk Road", which opens in the Uzbek capital today, September 28.

4 films shot by Tajik cinematographers will take part in the festival.

Within the framework of the festival, the Days of Tajik Cinema will be held in Uzbekistan, where more than 10 Tajik films will be shown to the Uzbek audience.

The Tashkent International Film Festival, also known as the International Film Festival of Asia, Africa and Latin America, was held during the Soviet era (1968-1988) and during the years of Uzbekistan's independence (1992 and 1997).

The decision to resume the festival was made by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev in June 2021.
