NGO Sadoqat and tdh Germany to cooperate on children’s health and community development in Tajikistan

NGO Sadoqat and terre des hommes (Earth of Humanity) Germany are starting their cooperation for the development of rural communities with a particular focus on improving the situation of children in Tajikistan.

Following more than two months of consultation and negotiations, the parties are starting collaboration with a pilot project “Access to Quality Healthcare by the Rural Population in Tajikistan” officially launched on October 1, 2021 with the duration of one year. 

The project with the financial support of the tdh Germany amounting EURO 25,000 comprises two components: 1) hard component for the renovation of four pediatric ward in the surgical unit of Devashtich District Central Hospital; and 2) soft component consisting of training sessions for 45 healthcare providers and an awareness campaign for 200 women of reproductive age. Under the soft component of the project 12 two-day training sessions will be conducted on the priority topics chosen by the local healthcare providers themselves, and an awareness-raising campaign on appropriate child nutrition will be organized for 200 women of childbearing age in four sessions of 50 participants each.

Our objective is to contribute to improve the living standards of the rural population by increasing access to quality healthcare and education services in remote areas”- she added.

NGO Sadoqat is a nonprofit and noncommercial organization established in 2000 and officially registered with the Ministry of Justice of Tajikistan. Sadoqat is committed to improving rural lives through thoughtful partnerships and practice. The organization implemented about 25 projects in various fields, including women and youth empowerment, reproductive health, healthy lifestyle among the youth, English skills improvement, and education and healthcare infrastructure with the support of various donor institutions during 20 years of its operation.
