The revenue part of the country’s budget for the first nine months of this year has been overfulfilled by 4.8 percent, according to the Ministry of Finance (MoF).
A source at a MoF says the budget’s revenue part for January-September this year has stood at 20.680 billion somonis instead of the originally planned 19.730 billion somonis.
The head of the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament) Committee on Economics and Finance, Faizullo Mashrab, noted during parliamentary debates that over the reporting period, the budget has been overfulfilled by 951 million somonis (equivalent to 84 million U.S. dollars).
According to him, tax and customs receipts have made up more than 552 million somonis in the total amount of unplanned income. Mandatory payments, court fines and funds from reimbursed financial losses in January-September have made up about 128 million somonis and funds received form implementation of the national investment projects have made up more than 278 million somonis in the total amount of unplanned income.
Over the reporting period, tax receipts have accounted for 70 percent of the overall volume of the budget’s revenues.
According to the Tax Committees, tax collection target over the first nine months of this year has been overfulfilled by 0.7 percent. Over the reporting period, the budget has reportedly received more than 10 billion somonis in taxes.
