More than 1.2 million people reportedly vaccinated against COVID-19 in Khatlon province

According to data from the Khatlon Health Directorate, 1,227,07 residents of Khatlon province of or over the age of 18 aged (60 percent) have been vaccinated against the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) as of December 19; 889,054 of them have got both COVID-19 vaccine shots.

The province has reportedly received 2,045,724 doses of various COVID-19 vaccines since the vaccination campaign was launched in the country.  Today, medical facilities in the province have 455,890 doses of the COVID-19 vaccines, the Khatlon Health Directorate press center says.  

Currently, special mobile vaccination units operate in the province going to the districts and cities of the province to vaccinate people against COVID-19.

Besides, by Khatlon governor’s order a working group has been set up to carry out explanatory work among the population on the need of the COVID-19 vaccination.

The group led by the deputy governor Firouz Sharifi travels daily to districts and cities of Khatlon to hold meetings with the population.
