Tajikistan announces 9-month moratorium on inspection of subjects of entrepreneurial activity

Date:

President Emomali Rahmon yesterday signed a decree on announcing moratorium on inspection of subjects of entrepreneurial activity, according to the Tajik president’s official website.

This decree is reportedly aimed at getting rid of unfounded inspections and creating favorable conditions for attraction of investments and creation of new jobs in the country.

The moratorium is announced for the period until January, 2023.

The president instructs the government bring its regulatory legal acts in line with this decree within a month.

The Tajik president’s official website says a law on moratorium on inspection of subjects of entrepreneurial activity will be adopted in accordance with this decree.

This law will regulate relations related to the announced moratorium, determines the legal basis for the implementation of the moratorium on inspection of subjects of entrepreneurial activity, establishes the procedure for imposing the moratorium and ensure the protection of the legitimate rights and interests of business entities.

Recall, Tajikistan in January 2018 announced a two-year moratorium on inspection of businesses in the manufacturing sector.

Under that moratorium, all kinds of inspection of businesses in the manufacturing sector were supposed to be abolished for the mentioned period, with the exception of the scheduled inspections carried out by tax agencies, the Prosecutor-General’s Office, the Accounts Chamber, eh Agency for State Financial Control and Combating Corruption, and the National Bank of Tajikistan (NBT).
