Tajik deputy foreign minister, China’s MFA external security commissioner discuss cooperation

On Saturday May 28, Tajik Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Farhod Salim, met here with the External Security Commissioner of China’s Foreign Ministry, Mr. Cheng Guoping, who arrived in Dushanbe to participate in the fourth Regional Security Dialogue on Afghanistan.

The Tajik MFA information department says the parties discussed issues related to bilateral  cooperation between Tajikistan and China in the field of security.

They, in particular, noted the importance of taking joint actions to overcome the negative consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic, stressed the need to intensify cooperation in combating terrorism, extremism, separatism, as well as transnational organized crime and drug trafficking.

Salim and Cheng reportedly also exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues being of mutual interest.
