Kazakhstan lifted restrictions on the export of wheat and flour. What does this mean for Tajikistan?

Tajikistan imports about 98% of wheat and flour from Kazakhstan.

The Interdepartmental Commission on Foreign Trade Policy of Kazakhstan lifted restrictions on the export of wheat and flour, the official information resource of the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan reports..

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, a good grain harvest is expected in Kazakhstan.

This year it is planned to harvest more than 13 million tons of wheat, which exceeds last year's harvest by 12%. bout 6.5 million tons are required for domestic consumption.

The Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan was instructed to monitor the export of grain and work out the issue of further regulation of the export of grain and flour.

Recall that restrictions on the export of grain and flour in Kazakhstan were introduced from April 15 this year.

The quota for wheat was then set at one million tons, for flour – 300 thousand tons.

Tajikistan's annual demand for flour is estimated at 1 million tons.
