Abdujabbor Kholikov, accountant of secondary school No. 2 in the city of Kulyab, was detained on suspicion of misappropriation of almost 900 thousand somoni, the press center of the Agency for State Financial Control and Combating Corruption of the country reports.

It is noted that while in this position, Kholikov, by forging accounting documents on salary, appropriated 892.9 thousand somoni and used it for personal purposes.

The department's statement does not say how long this amount was appropriated and when the detention took place.

A criminal case was initiated against Kholikov under Article 245 (Misappropriation or embezzlement) and 323 (Official forgery) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Tajikistan, which has already been submitted to the court.

Under Article 245, he faces a fine of 365 to 547 indicators for calculations, (one indicator – 64 somoni) or restriction of liberty for up to three years or imprisonment for the same period with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to two years.

Article 323 provides for a fine of 250 to 365 indicators for calculations or correctional labor for a term of one to two years or imprisonment for up to two years.
