A delegation of businesspeople from Russia’s Samara oblast, comprising senior representatives of 13 medium-sized and large companies, will arrive in Dushanbe on November 5 to discuss cooperation with Tajik entrepreneurs.

An official source within Tajikistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) says that during the visit that will last until November 12, they will get acquainted with the entrepreneurship environment in Tajikistan and visit several regions of Tajikistan.

On November 10, Russian entrepreneurs will hold bilateral meetings with their Tajik colleagues at Dushanbe Serena Hotel.

According to data from Russia’s trade representative office in Tajikistan, 67 federal subjects of Russia have had trade and economic ties with Tajikistan over the first nine months of this year.

Moscow has traditionally become the leader – 13.7 percent.  Moscow is followed by Krasnoyarsk krai – 9.9 percent, and Sverdlovsk oblast – 9.4 percent.

Chelyabinsk, Moscow and Volgograd oblasts have also provided a large volume of deliveries over the reporting period: 8.9$, 8.5% and 7.4%, respectively.

The key supply groups reportedly included traditional iron products, wood and wood products, various types of equipment and mechanical devices, as well as pharmaceutical products, rubber, and some other products.

Samara oblast is a federal subject of Russia.  Its administrative center is the city of Samara.  The oblast borders Tatarstan in the north, Orenburg oblast in the east, Kazakhstan (West Kazakhstan province) in the south, Saratov oblast in the southwest and Ulyanovsk oblast in the west.

In 1997, Samara oblast became one of the few federal subjects to receive the approval of the President of Russia to implement external bonded loans (Presidential decree No. 1212, dated 12.10.1997 "On Creating Conditions to Conduct Loans Operations on the Internal and External Capital Markets").  The oblast has several special investment sites which are built to implement new plants, industries, factories, create new jobs and increase investments.
