Heads of tourism agencies of the member nations of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) met in Dushanbe yesterday to discuss prospects of further expansion of cooperation in field of tourism.

The Tourism Development Committee under the Government of Tajikistan says top managers of tourism agencies from Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, China, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Tajikistan, Thailand, Turkiye and the CICA Secretariat participated in the meeting.

They reportedly underlined the importance of expanding cooperation in the field of tourism between CICA member nations after the COVID-19 pandemic and strengthening joint efforts to restore and intensify tourism exchange between the CICA member nations.

The parties reportedly agreed to provide mutual assistance and support to the tourism industry of the CIS member nations in combating the COVID-19 pandemic effects.

They also underlined the importance of launching new joint tourist routes “taking into account the safety of tourists, including when traveling between the CICA member nations,” says the Tourism Development Committee.

Recall, tour agencies of Tajikistan, Iran and Uzbekistan have signed more than 50 new cooperation documents during the regional tourism development forum that took place in Dushanbe on November 12.   Tajik craftspeople and tourist companies reportedly put on display their achievements in tourism and relevant industries at the forum that brought together delegations from Tajikistan, Iran and Uzbekistan.
