Medvedev proposes not to let “traitors” back to Russia and cut them off from sources of income

Russia media reports say Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev proposed not to let back those who left Russia “until the end of their days” and cut off their sources of income.  He reportedly wrote about this in his Telegram channel.

TASS says Medvedev stressed that those who left their homeland and went abroad, and now send “endless curses against the authorities”, wish their country “an early defeat in the war” and dream of the destruction of Russia, are enemies of the state.

“Traitors who hate their country so much that they call for its defeat and destruction must be regarded as hostis publicus, public enemies. Regardless of the legal qualification of their actions,” Medvedev wrote, according to TASS.

According him, such people should not be allowed back, they should be “completely cut off from sources of income” in the Russian Federation.  The politician stressed that their return to Russia could take place only in the event of prior public repentance, through an amnesty or pardon.

“Although it would be better for them not to return,” the Deputy Chairman of the Security Council added.

Recall, Medvedev earlier published ten “futuristic hypotheses” for 2023.  He predicted the collapse of the EU in the new year, the civil war in the United States and the emergence of the Fourth Reich.

Western media outlets note that former moderate Dmitry Medvedev becomes Putin’s pro-war cheerleader.  Atlantic Council say that “once seen in the West as a moderate and a source of hope for better ties with Russia, Medvedev now plays the role of Putin’s bad cop, using the kind of overtly fascistic language that makes the Russian dictator’s own menacing speeches appear positively moderate by comparison.”
