What roads will be built this year in Tajikistan?

The Ministry of Transport notes that the goal of all road projects is to turn Tajikistan into a transit country.

Five projects for the reconstruction of roads, the construction of bridges and avalanche corridors will be implemented in Tajikistan in 2023.

According to the Ministry of Transport of the country, in general, according to the projects, it is necessary to rehabilitate roads with a total length of almost 214 km.

In particular, the restoration of the Guliston-Kulyab (32.5 km), Dangara-Guliston (49.2 km), Guliston-Farkhor (40 km), Bokhtar-Levakant-Dangara (40 km) and 4 sections of roads in the Sughd region will begin (52 km)

In addition, the construction of bridges over the Gund and Shofdaryo rivers, avalanche corridors in the town of Barsem (4.6 km) in the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region will begin.

Meanwhile, according to the ministry, in the next three years, 317 kilometers of international highways, 32 bridges, 5 tunnels with a length of 11.2 km and 7 avalanche corridors will be put into operation in the country.

The ministry notes that the purpose of these projects is to turn Tajikistan into a transit country.
