Turkmen media reports says the first summit of the leaders of Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan will take place in Turkmenistan’s capital, Ashgabat, on August 4.

Recall, Tajik Foreign Minister Sirojiddin Muhriddin on July 26 held talks with his Turkmen and Uzbek counterparts, Rashid Meredov and Bakhtiyor Saidov, through videoconferencing to discuss preparations for this tripartite summit.

The parties, in particular, discussed the draft program, the agenda of the upcoming meeting, as well as the draft final document of the three leaders’ summit.

In this context, the ministers exchanged views on priority aspects of regional cooperation, the Tajik MFA information department reported on July 26.

Meanwhile, TURKMENPORTAL reported on August 2 that “currently, work is underway on documents that will be signed at a high-level meeting, separate meetings are held between officials and employees of the diplomatic departments of the three countries.”
