Almost 70 kilos of narcotic drugs seized at BCP along Uzbekistan’s common border with Tajikistan

Uzbekistan’s media reports say a large shipment of narcotic drugs has been seized by Uzbek customs and border officers at the “Sarosiyo” border crossing point (BCP) along the Uzbek-Tajik border located in Uzbekistan’s Surkhandaryo region.

Podrobno.uz said in Telegram that Uzbek customs and border officers seized almost 70 kilogram of narcotic drugs at the “Sarosiyo” BCP on September 7.   

An inspection of Volvo truck arriving from Tajikistan found narcotic drugs hidden behind the trim of the truck cab.  

A totaled reportedly included 68.2 kilograms of narcotic drugs, including 30 packages of heroin weighing 31.9 kilograms and 36 packages of hashish weighing 37.3 kilograms. 

Criminal proceedings have been instituted and an investigation is under way.
