Dushanbe-Khorog highway reopens for traffic after rockfall closed it for more than 24 hours

Date:

The Dushanbe-Khorog reopened for traffic after a rockfall closed it for more than 24 hours.

Recall, the Ministry of Transport (MoT) said yesterday afternoon that the highway was closed for traffic as a rockfall occurred near the village of Kevron in Darvoz district of the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO) Monday (October 16) morning, at around 11:10 am.

An official source at a MoT says a number of vehicles were stranded there.  No injured was reported, according to the source.

Passengers traveling from GBAO’s capital, Khorog, to Dushanbe told Asia-Plus the highway reopened for traffic yesterday at around 2:00 pm after rocks and debris were cleared from it.
