Kuwaiti company to help to secure mountain roads in Tajikistan

The Government of Tajikistan has concluded an agreement with Kuwaiti Nabeel Abdul-Raheem Consultants (NARCO) for the provision of consulting services on designing and controlling the quality of construction of protective rails on separate sections of mountain highways, according to the press center of the Ministry of Transport (MoT).  

The document was inked in Dushanbe on October 24 by the Government of Tajikistan, represented by the Minister of Transport Azim Ibrohim, and NARCO, represented by Ahmad Mahrus Ahamd Mohammad Aish, Operations and Information Technologies Manager. 

The company will study the dangerous sections of highways of international and national significance.   

The Kuwaiti company also provides consulting services on supervision of the construction and improvement of the design of guardrails. 

The MoT press center says that as part of the Fourth Phase of the Central Asia Regional Links Program (CARs-4), it is planned to study the Dushanbe-Vahdat-Kulob-Darvoz-Khorog-Kulma Pass Highway (especially the dangerous sections such as Vahdat-Danghara, Khatlon’s Shamsiddin-Shoin district – Shkev in Darvoz district of the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region, or GBAO) and the Vahdat-Rasht-Lakhsh-Kyrgyz Border (the priority sections of Vahdat-Obigarm, Nourobod-Kyrgyz Border).  

NARCO is a Kuwaiti Consulting Firm led by Chairman and Managing Director Dr. Nabeel Abdul-Raheem.

According to information posted on its official website, NARCO has many advantages in being able to offer a team approach to consultancy.  It reportedly has a team of professional Engineers, Architects and Planners, who are dedicated in specific areas of expertise in Project Designing and Supervision, Project Management, Economic Consultations, Technical and Economic Feasibility Studies, Planning and Management Consultations etc.  NARCO has registered with international funding agencies such as the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED), Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development (AFESD), Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA), Islamic Development Bank (IDB), Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) and African Development Bank (ADB).

NARCO reportedly has a comparative advantage in providing consulting services requiring multidisciplinary expertise and sophisticated analytical capabilities.  The core business propositions of NARCO to its customers can be highlighted as: feasibility studies; preparation of project reports; master planning; project management; basic and detailed designing and construction supervision; management and administrative consultations; marketing consultations; and tender documents and tender evaluation.
