Four persons, including the son of the ex-minister of energy and industry Sherali Gul, have been detained for restaurant braw in Dushanbe.
The official website of the Dushanbe Police Directorate reported on December 1 that a massive brawl involving the 25-year-old Alisher Gulov, the son the ex-Minister of Energy and Industry Sherali Gul, and Sherdil Sirojev, the son of known Tajik businessman who owned the Jal-Jam bazaar that was demolished in 2019, took place at Bukhoro-Palace Restaurant on night of November 30.
“Four people, including the 25-year-old Alisher Gulov, the 26-year-old Rahmon Mahmadbekov, the 26-year-old Jasour Khojayev and the 27-year-old Suhrob Sharipov – all of them are residents of Dushanbe – have been detained,” the Dushanbe Police Directorate’s official website says, noting that the medical examination established that the participants in the brawl were in a state of drunkenness.
In accordance with Article 460 of the Administrative Code – disorderly conduct, a record of administrative offense was filed against them and moved to a court in Dushanbe’s Ismoili Somoni district.
They were reportedly sentenced to 7 days of administrative arrest each.
Meanwhile, Radio Liberty’s Tajik Service, known locally as Radio Ozodi, says the brawl erupted between Alisher Gulov, who is an officer of the Interior Ministry, and Sherdil Sirojev.
As a result of the brawl, two friends of Alisher Gulov and Sherdil Sirojev and his friend Mirsaid reportedly sustained various injuries and were taken to a hospital.
According to Sherdil Sirojev, Alisher Gulov and his 11 or 12 friends attacked him and his friend Mirsaid.
Radio Ozodi’s attempts to find out Alisher Gulov’s opinion about the incident were reportedly unsuccessful.
Radio Ozodi further noted that Sherdil Sirojev’s relatives said they have no complaints.
Radio Ozodi says it is not the first time that names of sons of ex-minister of energy and industry and president’s in-law get into crime reports
Recall, a court in Dushanbe’s Shohmansour district sentenced Dilovar Gulov, the son of ex-Minster Sherali Gul, to one year in prison on November 2, 2018. The sentence followed his conviction on charges of hooliganism committed with the use of weapons or items used as weapons (Article 237 (3) of Tajikistan’s Penal Code — hooliganism committed with the use of weapons or items used as weapons.
Article 237 (3) stipulates that hooliganism committed with the use of weapons or items used as weapons is punishable by a jail term ranging from five to ten years.
Dilovar Gulov reportedly beat Dilshod Narzullozoda, an officer of the Interior Ministry Organized Crime Control Directorate, on July 8, 2018 following quarrel. Narzullozoda sustained moderate bodily injuries and was taken to a hospital.
On March 10, 2018, Dilovar Gulov and 12 other young men were detained for disorderly conduct. By a ruling handed down by a court in Dushanbe’s Shohmansour district all of them were sentenced to between 5 and 15 days of administrative arrest.
Besides, Dilovar Gulov was fined 5,000 somoni in summer 2015 for having tinted glasses on his car.
