Somon Air launches air routes from Khujand to Dubai, Jeddah and Istanbul

Tajikistan first privately owned air company, Somon Air, has launched air routes from the Tajik northern city of Khujand to Dubai (United Arab Emirates, or UAE), Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) and Istanbul (Turkiye).  

The Somon Air press center says that beginning on February4, the airline will operate once-weekly service from Khujand to Dubai on Sundays. 

Beginning on February 6, Somon Air will operate once-weekly service from Khujand to Jeddah on Tuesdays.

The first flight on the Khujand-Istanbul air route is expected to be operated on February 7.  It will also be once-weekly service – on Thursdays.  

Besides, beginning on January 22, Somon Air will operate triple-weekly service from Dushanbe to the Kazakh city of Almaty – on Monday, Wednesdays and Saturdays.  

Beginning on January 24, the airline operate triple-weekly service from Dushanbe to Uzbekistan’s capital, Tashkent – on Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays,

The company will use Being 737-800 and Boeing 737-900 to operate flights on these air routes.

Somon Air is the first private airline in Tajikistan with an office headquartered in Dushanbe.  The airline operations are based at Dushanbe International Airport.  The airline started operating on February 5, 2008 with regular flights to Moscow and Dubai.  Somon Air also serves as the official carrier of the President of Tajikistan and other Tajikistan high-ranking officials

Somon Air is a member of the International Air Transport Association (IATA).  Somon Air's fleet consists of Boeing 737-800 and 737-900 family aircraft. The company is focused on expanding the route network of air transportation and the fleet, and currently operates regular flights from Tajikistan to China, Germany, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Turkiye, the United Arab Emirates, and Uzbekistan.
