Afghanistan diplomatic mission in Tashkent handed over to the Taliban

Date:

Bayan News reported on February that media outlets have reported that Uzbekistan has handed over the Afghanistan Embassy in Tashkent to the Taliban.

Sources reportedly told the media on Saturday that Mawlawi Shahabuddin Delawar’s son, Mawlawi Shahab, the Minister of Mines of the Taliban, has been appointed as the acting head at the Afghanistan Embassy in Tashkent.

Mawlawi Shahabuddin Delawar was introduced about three months ago as the First Secretary of the Afghanistan Embassy in Tashkent by the Afghan Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Previously, the Taliban’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs had dismissed the Ambassador of Afghanistan in Tashkent.

Bayan News further noted that most regional countries, including Iran, Russia, China, Pakistan, and several other regional countries, have accepted and engaged with diplomatic representatives of the Taliban.
