Asia-Plus

On Tuesday April 9, President Emomali Rahmon congratulated Tajikistanis on Eid al-Fitr, which is celebrated in Tajikistan this year on April 10.

In his message of congratulations, Rahmon wished each family in Tajikistan happy and prosperous life.  “I wish our beloved Motherland eternal indestructible peace and strong, unshakable stability,” Tajik leader says in message of congratulations.

Rahmon notes that during the holy month of Ramadan, every person strives to do good deeds.

“Performing virtuous deeds on the eve of the holiday is a respectable tradition that must be adhered to, avoiding ostentation…,” the president said.

He further noted that that every family, all residents of the country urgently need to avoid excesses and waste, showing off and pretending during the holidays, and think about solving your family problems, about providing for their households.

He once again called on residents of the country to give priority to the proper upbringing and education of children, guiding them to the right path.

Emomali Rahmon called the current global situation “a new phase of the Cold War” and called on Tajikistanis to be politically vigilant amid “growing tensions as the process of the world's repartitioning is intensifying.”

“In these difficult and dangerous circumstances, we should not let our citizens, our children, turn into toys in the hands of the groups involved in the global standoff,” Rahmon said.

This year, Tajikistan celebrates Eid ul-Fitr on April 10.  Festive prayer on the occasion of the end of the holy month of Ramadan will be performed at all mosques of the country at 6:30 am.

Eid ul-Fitr is a Muslim holiday that marks the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting.  Eid is an Arabic word meaning “festivity”, while Fitr means “to purify”; and so the holiday symbolizes the purification after completing the fasting month, which is after the end of the Islamic month of Ramadan, on the first day of Shawwal.
