President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev will pay a state visit to Tajikistan on August 22-23 at the invitation of Emomali Rahmon. During the visit, Tajik-Kazakh high-level talks will be held in a narrow and expanded format, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan reports.

As a result of the negotiations, "a solid package of documents will be signed, the main of which will be the Treaty on Allied Relations," the foreign ministry noted.

The heads of state will also take part in a solemn concert on the occasion of the opening of the Days of Culture of Kazakhstan in Tajikistan.

Tokayev is scheduled to meet with Chairman of the Majlisi Namoyandagon Majlisi Oli Mahmadtoir Zokirzoda and Prime Minister of the Republic Kohir Rasulzoda.

As part of the state visit of the President of Kazakhstan, parallel bilateral events will be held in the Tajik capital – a business forum, a conference of scientists, a women's forum, a youth forum, Days of Kazakh Cinema, an exhibition of Kazakh fine arts and folk crafts, the opening ceremony of the bust of Abai Kunanbayev and others.
