The Ministry of Education and Science named the number of Tajik students studying abroad

More than 41.2 thousand Tajik boys and girls are currently studying outside Tajikistan, the Ministry of Education and Science of the country told “Asia-Plus”.

Of the total number of students studying at foreign universities, the largest number study in the Russian Federation – 33,178 people. The top three countries also include China with 2,900 students and Kazakhstan with 970 students.

Further, the distribution of students in other countries is as follows:

Turkey – 900 students;

Republic of Belarus – 802 students;

Republic of India – 675 students;

Republic of Uzbekistan – 504 students;

Republic of Malaysia – 420 students;

Federal Republic of Germany – 125 students;

Republic of Hungary – 110 students;

Czech Republic – 94 students;

Poland – 81 students;

Azerbaijan Republic – 70 students;

France – 61 students;

The Islamic Republic of Iran – 54 students;

United Arab Emirates – 49 students;

Republic of Japan – 47 students;

The State of Qatar – 32 students;

Saudi Arabia – 38 students;

Great Britain – 18 students;

Benelux Countries – 10 students;

Georgia – 4 students;

Turkmenistan – 4 students.

"These data highlight the wide geography of Tajik students' educational routes and their presence in the world's leading educational centers," the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan noted.

According to the source, the process of enrolling Tajik applicants in foreign universities is currently underway. Statistics will be updated in October.

It should be noted that in Tajikistan there is a club "Youth studying abroad", which was founded on March 2, 2014 at the initiative of the Committee on Youth and Sports under the Government of the country. The main goal of the club is to strengthen friendship and camaraderie, increase a sense of self-awareness, patriotism and cohesion among boys and girls studying outside the republic.

Currently, the club's members are more than 1,500 students who study in countries such as Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, the People's Republic of China, the Netherlands, Malaysia, South Korea and Uzbekistan.
