Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) – cooperation prospects for the development of Tajikistan

 On 6 of September 2024, Qozidavlat Qoimdodov, AKDN Resident Representative met with Aghasi Harutyunyan, FAO Representative in the Republic of Tajikistan.

During the meeting, sides discussed the prospects for joint cooperation in the agricultural sector and the introduction of innovative methods for the development of the agro-industrial complex of Tajikistan. Priority areas for joint cooperation between AKDN and FAO included agriculture, agrotourism, adaptation to climate change, capacity building of specialists in the agricultural sector, development of research work, etc.

AKDN and FAO have significant experience in the agricultural sector and are aimed at fruitful cooperation.

The Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) is a collection of private, international, non-denominational institutions working to improve lives and expand opportunities for people in the developing world, particularly in Asia and Africa. AKDN operates in over 30 countries with more than 96,000 employees, the majority of whom are citizens of developing countries. AKDN agencies focus on social, cultural, and economic development for all citizens, regardless of religion, race, ethnicity, or gender.
