Dushanbe police warns: flashing lights and sirens on private cars are prohibited

Date:

The Dushanbe Police Department has issued a warning against installing flashing lights and sirens on private vehicles.

"Installation and use of special light (flashing lights) and sound (sirens) equipment on vehicles are permitted only for specialized vehicles.  This equipment cannot be installed on private cars, and its use in such cases constitutes a violation of the law," the Department's statement reads.

It further notes that if violations are identified, measures will be taken not only against vehicle owners but also against those who install these devices.

Police in Dushanbe are conducting raids and inspections to prevent the illegal use of flashing lights and sirens on private vehicles.
