Tajikistan drops one position in the Global Passport Power Rank

Tajikistan is ranked 72nd in the updated Global Passport Power Rank 2025, dropping one position compared to the previous year.

The Tajik passport, scoring 73 points, allows its holders to visit 27 countries visa-free and obtain a visa on arrival in 46 countries.  However, travel to 125 countries requires a visa in advance.

According to Arton Capital, the company compiling the ranking, Kazakhstan remains the leader among Central Asia’s countries, holding 53rd place with 96 points.  Kazakh passport holders can visit 46 countries visa-free, obtain a visa on arrival in 50 countries, and require pre-arranged visas for 102 countries.

Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan are tied at 68th place with 78 points each.  Citizens of these countries can visit 32 countries visa-free and obtain visas on arrival in 46 others, while requiring advance visas for 120 countries.

Turkmenistan is ranked 76th with 68 points.  Its passport provides visa-free access to 18 countries, visas on arrival in 50 countries, and requires pre-arranged visas for 130 countries.

The United Arab Emirates leads the updated ranking with 180 points, granting visa-free access to 133 countries.  Spain is second with 179 points.  Finland, France, Germany, Belgium, Italy, Denmark, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Austria, Portugal, Switzerland, Norway, Greece and Ireland occupy the third position.

At the bottom of the ranking are countries with the least mobile passports, including Somalia, Iraq, Afghanistan, and Syria.

The Passport Index is an interactive online tool by Arton Capital that provides its users with insights about passports, including the ability to compare and rank the world's passports.  Rankings are based on the freedom of movement and visa-free travel open to holders of particular passports.  The site allows the display of various territories' passports using a variety of filters such as region and passport cover color.
