Tajikistan ranked 121st among 155 countries in fixed internet speed

Tajikistan is ranked 121st out of 155 countries in the Speedtest Global Index for fixed (wired) internet speeds during the period from September to November 2024.  The average download speed in Tajikistan was 30.66 Mbps, which is significantly lower than the global average of 95 Mbps.

Tajikistan lags far behind its regional neighbors: Uzbekistan is ranked 73rd with 79 Mbps, Kyrgyzstan is 84th with 73 Mbps, and Kazakhstan is 89th with 66 Mbps.

The global leaders in fixed internet speed are Singapore (324 Mbps), Hong Kong (302 Mbps), and the UAE (301 Mbps).

There is no data available on the average mobile internet speed in Tajikistan for the September–November 2024 period.  However, as of February 2024, Tajikistan ranked 139th among 143 countries globally, and by May 2024, it had dropped to 143rd.

It remains unclear whether there were countries ranked below Tajikistan or if the country occupied the very last position.

In the region, Tajikistan also trails in mobile internet speeds, falling behind countries such as Kazakhstan (54 Mbps), Uzbekistan (38 Mbps), and Kyrgyzstan (40 Mbps).

Globally, the average mobile internet speed is 62 Mbps.  The top performers in this category are the UAE (442 Mbps), Qatar (358 Mbps), and Kuwait (264 Mbps).
