In 2024, Khujand International Airport served 799,200  passengers, SugdNEWS reports.  Compared to 2023, this figure reportedly decreased by 22% (by 226,300 passengers).  Approximately 395,000 passengers departed from the airport, while 404,500 arrived, according to SugdNEWS.

“Currently, six airlines operate flights to and from Khujand Airport, including one national carrier and five foreign airlines,” the airport's press service stated.

In 2024, the airport reportedly handled 2,571 flights (compared to 3,331 flights in 2023), of which 1,738 were regular flights, 53 were charter flights, and 833 were delayed flights.

According to official data, last year, the airport's profitability decreased by 96.6 million somonis, while expenses were reduced by 11.3 million somonis.

The director of OJSC Khujand International Airport, Qurbon Alimardon, noted that the decline in passenger traffic is negatively affecting airport operations.

“We are operating at only 30% of our capacity. As the figures show, the number of departures and arrivals has decreased. For various reasons, people have been flying less frequently. Overall, last year was a difficult one for us,” he emphasized.

Khujand International Airport is one of four international airports operating in the country.   The airport serves Khujand, the capital of Sughd province.  The airport is located out of the city, in the city of Buston.  The airport resides at an elevation of 442 m above mean sea level.  It has one runway designated 08/26 with an asphalt surface measuring 3,200 x 50 m.
