Tajikistan has significantly increased its export of agricultural products in the first six months of 2025, according to the country’s Ministry of Agriculture, as cited by the state-run news agency Khovar.
From January to June, over 90,000 metric tons of agricultural goods were exported — 13,100 tons more than during the same period in 2024. These exports were distributed across 26 countries, with 89% going to fellow CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States) members and 11% to more distant foreign markets.
Export routes and key regions
The bulk of agricultural exports passed through the Sughd province, which accounted for 80,000 tons. Other contributing regions included:
- Khatlon Province – 5,200 tons
- Tursunzoda City – 4,600 tons
- Dushanbe – 189 tons
- Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region, or GBAO – 66 tons
Top export products and revenue
According to Tajikistan’s Customs Service, which released detailed figures in July, the most lucrative export items were:
- Dried fruits and nut mixtures – US$14 million in revenue from 34,000 tons
- Chicken eggs – US$2.3 million from 1,700 tons
- Fresh fruits (including apricots, cherries, sweet cherries, peaches, and plums) – US$1.6 million from 4,000 tons
- Onions – US$1.6 million from 14,000 tons
- Poultry meat, mainly chicken – US$1.5 million in export earnings
The growth in exports reflects increasing demand for Tajik agricultural products abroad and improvements in export logistics, particularly through northern regions such as Sughd.
