He reportedly explained that the seizure amounts were as follows: the Drug Control Agency confiscated 384 kg 440 g (up from 217 kg 820 g in 2024), the Interior Ministry seized 1,176 kg (down from 2,089 kg 232 g in 2024), the State Committee for National Security confiscated 1,459 kg (up from 789 kg 56 g), the Agency for State Financial Control and Combating Corruption seized 3 kg 92 g (up from 508 g), and the Customs Service seized 83 kg 220 g (none in 2024).

The country has also seen a reduction in drug addiction cases. Over the first half of 2025, 4,002 individuals were registered as drug-dependent, a 1.6% decrease from 4,066 people during the same period in 2024.
For the first time, 178 new cases of drug addiction were diagnosed in national drug rehabilitation centers during this period. Tajikistan’s drug addiction rate is among the lowest globally, with 40 drug-dependent individuals per 100,000 people.
At the end of the press conference, over 280 kg of narcotic drugs were destroyed by incineration in a special furnace, in the presence of journalists, after court verdicts.
