In Moscow, at the ACA 190 tournament, Tajik fighter Faridun Odilov won a confident victory over Brazilian Leonardo Silva, returning his status as a contender for the top spot. Asia-Plus followed the fight.
Odilov (19-3-2) dominated from the first seconds, constantly imposing a high pace and pressure on his opponent. The Brazilian tried to work as the second number, but found himself under constant pressure.
The result left no doubt: all three judges gave the victory to the Tajik with a score of 30-26. For Silva, this is the eighth defeat in his career, and for Faridun – the 19th victory in 24 fights.
The comeback was symbolic: after the defeat by Adlan Ibragimov in December 2024, many began to talk about a decline in Odilov's career. However, his fight with Silva became a reminder of why he was recently called the "Terminator" – for his tough style and ability to achieve results.
Odilov was reserved after the fight: "I don't want to talk about my plans, because those with whom I want to compete (Adlan Ibragimov and Muslim Magomedov. – Ed.), they compete with each other. Let them compete, and then give us a chance to fight for the belt again."
These words show that the fighter is in no hurry to issue challenges, but clearly hints at his readiness to return to the title fight as soon as a new champion is determined.
Faridun Odilov was born on August 12, 1992. He began his career as a sambo wrestler, became the champion of Tajikistan five times and won medals on the international arena. His achievements include: silver at the Asian Sambo Championship (2017); bronze at the Asian Indoor Games (2017); participation in the Asian Freestyle Wrestling Championship (2019); the Eagle Fighting Championship middleweight title (2021).
Since 2016, he has been performing in professional MMA and has managed to go through such promotions as WFCA, Fight Nights Global, Gorilla Fighting. Experience in wrestling and sambo has become his calling card, but every year he added a powerful striking arsenal to this.
After such a confident victory, Odilov naturally returned to the elite of the ACA light heavyweight division. His name is again heard among possible contenders for the title, and opponents are forced to take into account: this fighter knows how to come back from failures and only become stronger.
