This year at the National Testing Center (NTC) For the first time in Tajikistan, the specialties of philology, pedagogy and art, along with medical and legal, became one of the most in demand.
Sabzali Jafarzoda, head of the NTC, said at a press conference on August 6 that the share of applicants registered in this group of specialties amounted to 124% of the plan.
"This year, universities and secondary specialized educational institutions of the country in the fields of philology, pedagogy and art had 16,877 free places, but the number of applicants in this group was 20,929 people," Jafarzoda said.
The ministry noted that this year the medical sector remained the most in demand.
Universities–leaders and outsiders
NTC reports that this year the Tajik State Medical University named after Abuali ibn Sino and Khatlon State Medical University were in the first place with 100% fulfillment of the admission plan.
The last positions were taken: The Institute of Industry and Service with an admission plan of 22%, the National Research University of the Moscow Energy Institute in Dushanbe – 26%, and Khorog State University – 29%.
Last year, the Institute of Culture and Art was among the last with 20% of the admission plan and the Innovation Institute with 16%.
How many applicants have registered?
According to official data, in two registration stages, a total of 114,863 applicants (92,991 graduates of 11th grades and 21,872 graduates of 9th grades) applied to the NTC for admission to universities and secondary specialized educational institutions of the country.
The admission plan based on 11th grades amounted to 96,065 places, and the number of registered applicants occupied 96.8% of available places.
The number of available places for admission after the 9th grade was 17,716, and registered applicants provided 123% of the completion of the admission plan.
Last year, almost 100,000 applicants passed through the registration of the National Testing Center.
