The Mahmudjon Vohidov State Youth Theater, the Puppet Theater and the Children's Philharmonic of Tajikistan were headed by new leaders. This was reported to AsiaPlus by the country's Ministry of Culture.

According to the source, Izzatullo Safarzoda, who previously headed the Puppet Theater, has been appointed director of the Mahmudjon Vohidov Youth Theater.

Sukhrob Mirzoev, the former director of the Youth Theater, was relieved of his post due to a transfer to another job he was elected deputy chairman of the International Confederation of Theaters, whose headquarters is located in Moscow.

Nargis Rozikzoda was appointed director of the Dushanbe Puppet Theater instead of Izzatullo Safarzoda. Prior to that, she was the head of the Children's Philharmonic Society of Dushanbe.

Rozikzoda has worked in this theater for more than 30 years. She is a graduate of the Directing and acting faculty of the Tajik State Institute of Culture and Arts named after Mirzo Tursunzade and for a long time held the position of artistic director of the puppet theater.

Sukhrob Janjolov has been appointed director of the Children's Philharmonic Society. Before that, he worked in the Youth Theater.

Sukhrob Janjolov is a Tajik actor and director. Since 1995, when he entered the Tajik State Institute of Culture and Arts, he collaborated with the State Youth Theater and for some time was its deputy director. He performed roles in several productions, and directed some of them.

It should be noted that for many years, cultural and artistic figures in Tajikistan have expressed concern that the theater in the country is not being given due attention. Civil society also complains about the decline in the level of theatrical productions in the country.

The Parastu competition is also held every two years in the country for the development of the theatrical sphere. However, according to the Tajik directors and the jury, "our theater is at least 60 years behind the world theater."

The Government of Tajikistan has approved the State Program for the Development of Theatrical Art for 2025-2029. The program states that over the next five years, more than 14 million somoni will be allocated for the development of the theatrical sphere in the country. The artists hope that the program, if not just on paper, will contribute to the development of the industry.
