Heat, dust, and the risk of flooding. Tajikhydromet warned of temperature rise in the last days of August

Date:

From August 26 to 28, residents of Tajikistan will face rising temperatures and deteriorating air quality. The Agency for Hydrometeorology of the Republic warns of the possibility of glacial floods in the western regions of the GornoBadakhshan Autonomous Region, as well as in the mountainous regions of the Sughd region and Areas of republican subordination.

In the Khatlon region, Areas of republican subordination (RRP) and in the capital Dushanbe, the air will be saturated with dust particles, including fine-grained RM10 and RM2.5, which is especially dangerous for children, the elderly and people with chronic respiratory diseases.

In the coming days in Dushanbe and the Districts of Republican Subordination, the night temperature will range from 21 to 23 degrees Celsius, and in the afternoon the thermometer will rise to 35-38 degrees. The wind is southwesterly with gusts of up to 12-15 meters per second, partly cloudy, sometimes misty these are the weather conditions expected for three days. In the foothills and mountainous areas, the temperature will be slightly lower: 12-18 degrees at night, 30-35 degrees in the afternoon.

The Weather Service recommends that citizens limit long walks, especially along busy roads, keep an eye on children and elderly relatives, and be extremely careful in mountainous areas where there is a risk of glacial floods.

Increased westerly winds of up to 15-20 meters per second and dusty haze pose additional risks, so it is important to regularly monitor weather forecast updates and observe safety measures.
