Date:

On August 26, at the Tajik Technical University named after academician M.S. Osimi hosted a thematic presentation on "Chinese Modernization." It presented not only the current success of China in the field of modernization, but also noted the cooperation of our countries in this area.

The first Lu Ban Workshop in Central Asia

The event was attended not only by representatives of the University, but also by high-ranking guests: Ambassador of the People's Republic of China Guo Zhijun, head of the delegation of the Communist Party of China, member of the CPC Central Committee, as well as Party Secretary of Qinghai Province Wu Xiaojun and Deputy Chairman of the People's Democratic Party of Tajikistan Mirzokosim Karimzoda.

As Guo Zhijun noted during his speech, the first Lu Ban Workshop in Central Asia was created at the TTU by M.S. Osimi at the initiative of the heads of China and Tajikistan.

It covers such areas as urban thermal power engineering, geodesy, and also explores the field of new energy sources.

"This fully corresponds to the essence of Chinese modernization – highquality development and harmonious coexistence of man and nature. As President Xi Jinping noted, we are ready to use the new achievements of Chinese modernization to provide new opportunities to the world, benefiting the peoples of all countries," said Guo Zhijun.

He also noted that today China's GDP has exceeded 130 trillion yuan. Thus, the country ranks first in the world in terms of industrial production, foreign trade in goods, the volume of foreign exchange reserves, energy production and the number of labor resources. At the same time, Guo Zhijun added, China is actively promoting the green transformation of the economy and society. Moreover, AI, digital economy and new energy sources are successfully used.

Regarding Tajikistan, the Ambassador noted the rapid development in relations between the two countries.

"Last July, Xi Jinping's state visit to Tajikistan opened a new page in the history of comprehensive strategic partnership and building a community of common destiny between China and Tajikistan. In June of this year, the leaders of the two countries met at the second ChinaCentral Asia Summit and gave a new impetus to the development of friendship and cooperation.

This weekend, Emomali Rahmon will visit China to participate in the SCO summit and events marking the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese people in the War of Resistance against Japan and the world victory in World War II. This will be a new peak in the development of bilateral relations," Guo Zhijun said.

China is the largest source of investment

Among other things, the Ambassador noted that in the first half of this year, China became Tajikistan's largest trading partner for the first time and continues to be the largest source of investment. This increases the level of transport links and develops cooperation in areas such as renewable energy, digital economy, artificial intelligence, and ecommerce.

"China and Tajikistan are good neighbors, friends, reliable partners and brothers who are always ready to support each other. On the path of modernization, China is ready to go hand in hand with Tajikistan, creating new development opportunities and bringing more benefits to our countries and peoples," the ambassador added.

In his presentation, the head of the delegation of the Communist Party of China, Wu Xiaojun, spoke in detail about the "Chinese Modernization" and Tajikistan's cooperation with China in the field of modernization. Thus, as he noted, the volume of bilateral trade in 2024 amounted to almost $4 billion, and the volume of trade since the beginning of this year has already reached $964 million, which means an increase of almost 30% year-on-year.

"We are ready to expand exchanges and cooperation with the Tajik side in such areas as environmental management, protection and construction of national parks, as well as combating desertification," Wu Xiaojun said.

As Mirzokosim Karimzoda noted, the Lu Ban Workshop became "the embodiment of Xi Jinping's promises to create 10 Luban workshops in the SCO countries."

"Diplomatic relations between Tajikistan and China, established on January 4, 1992, have reached unprecedented heights in 33 years. More than 250 bilateral documents create a solid legal basis for cooperation. In this regard, I would like to mention the historic 2018 declaration on comprehensive strategic partnership and the landmark 2024 memorandum on cooperation between the International Democratic Party of Tajikistan and the Communist Party of China.

"We areparticularly proud of the TajikChinese Experimental and Professional Training Center "Lu Ban Workshop", created in accordance with the recommendations and instructions of Emomali Rahmon within the framework of the program "20th anniversary of the Study of Natural Sciences" and the support of the Tianjin Professional Technical Institute," said the deputy chairman of the NDPT.

He also expressed gratitude to the Chinese Communist Party for its comprehensive support of global initiatives, strengthening humanitarian cooperation and creating an effective inter-party platform.

After the presentation, representatives of TTU by M.S. Osimi introduced the Chinese side to the achievements of the University and its team.

Following the results of the event, a memorandum of cooperation between TTU by Osimi, Qinghai Vocational Technical University and Qinghai University was signed.
