On October 2, President Emomali Rahmon paid a working visit to Temurmalik district in Khatlon province, participating in the opening of new educational, healthcare, and infrastructure facilities, according to the president’s official website.

In Dousti village, Kangurt jamoat, a new Presidential School was inaugurated. The school, constructed by entrepreneurs Shamsullo and Mahmadzohir Sohibov, was originally planned as a secondary education institution. However, due to its high construction quality and equipment, President Rahmon ordered its transformation into a Presidential School serving the communities of Kangurt and Huseynobod. Admission for teachers and students will be competitive. The president also instructed the construction of a 400-student dormitory and a 200-child preschool on site.

Additionally, four more facilities were opened remotely, including additional school buildings, medical facilities, and a drinking water supply line.

A new building at School No. 10 in Chavrok village can accommodate 480 students in two shifts, with 10 classrooms and specialized laboratories. A similar building was constructed at School No. 25 in Chashma, Gurdovaron jamoat, also for 480 students. Both sites include Early Childhood Development Centers.

In healthcare, the maternity, pediatric, intensive care, and surgical departments of Temurmalik Central Hospital were renovated and equipped with modern technology.

The president also launched a new water supply system, providing clean drinking water to over 30,000 residents, with an additional 5,000 people in remote villages expected to benefit soon.

In sports, President Rahmon opened the central stadium in Kangurt village, built by the State Directorate for Construction of Government Facilities under the Presidential Executive Office. Constructed over three years at a cost of over 18 million somonis, the stadium seats 6,000 spectators and covers 13,000 square meters. It includes floodlights for football matches and a two-story building with facilities for coaches, guests, and commentators. The project also created 10 permanent jobs for local residents. During the visit, the president met with young footballers from the Surkhob team, emphasizing the importance of sports for youth development.

The stadium is part of broader initiatives to promote football and healthy lifestyles in Temurmalik, where over the past two years eight sports grounds, six gyms, and four state sports schools have been built. Across Khatlon province, 130 sports facilities, including major stadiums in Vose, Abdurahmon-Jami, Shamsiddin-Shohin, and Vakhsh districts, are under construction.

Furthermore, in Kangurt, a State Flag Square was inaugurated in honor of the 35th anniversary of Tajikistan’s independence. The 65-meter flagpole, displaying a flag measuring 20 by 10 meters, was built with support from local authorities, entrepreneurs, and residents. The square features a modern design with fountains and lighting.
