On December 12, the Agency for State Financial Control and Combating Corruption under the President of Tajikistan hosted in Dushanbe the International Forum on Combating Corruption in Business marking International Anti-Corruption Day. Avesta.tj , citing the Agency's press center, says the event aimed to strengthen cooperation with the private sector, support entrepreneurship, and improve the country’s investment climate.

The forum's primary objective was to raise awareness of anti-corruption issues in the private sector, discuss key industry challenges, and identify modern approaches to corporate governance. Participants also focused on ensuring transparency and integrity in business and sharing best practices in these areas.

The event was attended by high-ranking officials, including First Deputy Prime Minister Hokim Kholiqzoda, along with leaders from the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, the State Committee on Investment and State-owned Property Management, the Accounts Chamber, the National Bank of Tajikistan, the Tax Committee, and the Customs Service, as well as the Human Rights Commissioner.

Additionally, the forum brought together representatives from various ministries and departments, law enforcement agencies, entrepreneurs, civil society organizations, international organizations, and academic institutions. Diplomats from foreign embassies in Tajikistan, along with invited guests from anti-corruption agencies of Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, Russia, and Uzbekistan, also participated.

The forum featured five sessions, with discussions on key topics such as state anti-corruption policies to ensure economic security, the role of integrity and corporate governance in business, and the use of digital technologies and artificial intelligence in combating corruption. International experts from over 40 countries participated both in person and online, sharing insights and experiences in the fight against corruption.

A highlight of the forum was the presentation of the draft Corporate Governance Code and the Action Plan for the second phase of Tajikistan's State Anti-Corruption Strategy for 2026–2030. These documents aim to strengthen anti-corruption mechanisms in the private sector, leverage information technology and artificial intelligence to identify and address corruption risks, and reduce corruption across various sectors.

At the conclusion of the event, participants agreed on a recommendation document, known as the Statement, which was made publicly available. The press center emphasized that the forum’s successful execution at an international level underscores Tajikistan's ongoing commitment to combating corruption on the global stage.
